G16 Vanny Build...

How come you didn't use the starter motor that comes with the engine?

While I still have stock starter and have room to mount it, I needed the charging capacity of the starter generator. Since I'm running the billet flywheel I had to give up the stock charging coils. Additionally, I'm not entirely sure the stock starter is compatible with the billet ring gear(something I'll have to verify).

I may run into the issue of the starter generator not having the torque to turn over the engine. If that happens then I will have to use a mounted starter. However, I really like the idea of keeping the pedal start, so if I run into that issue, I may look into the availability of a high torque s/g vs the stock mounted starter....

Here are some more update photos. Sorry for the time between updates, seems I get out on the project and forget to take pics to show how I'm doing this or that. The following pics are of the cart after the engine is set and fired off. Thing is a monster. It's running a little rich right now but without being able to get it out and actually run it out I'm gonna hold off on any tuning.

A little more work done today. Cut, bent, and notched some pipe to fab the rear bumper. The plan is to cut some floor plate and recess the tail lights into the bumper. I'll try to get some pics of the finished bumper tomorrow....

Went out and cut out my backgrounds for the tail lights and got them mounted along with making the bumper mounts. If you look at the picture with the bumper mounted it will look off level compared to the body as the body isn't bolted down yet. I did, however, take it out of the shop for the first time since the build. Lots to do yet but this thing is a monster. Pretty excited with the performance of the cart.....

Very cool build. Thank you for sharing. I just read through all three pages, so sorry if I missed it, but what carbs did you end up using, and would you do anything differently with them if you had to do it over again?
