Hello.this golf cart stuff is neat. Never thought one would drag race them. I am still learning so far so good. I read alot about 72 volts. I have found a 72volt converter or speed controller. I can't find a 72volt motor. We took a 36v ezgo & made it into a 48v cart. We used the stock motor, it is a lot faster now. Can I use my same motor on 72v or is there such a thing as a 72v motor.l ask here on this forum cause there is more lnformation about racing than on the other forums. If I ask the wrong queastions just say so...I will understand.I know all about secrets. If you guys could send me in the right directions I would be thankful & maybe competitive.

It depends on a couple of things:
1) Yes but only if it's a series cart.
2) You need to keep the rpm down under 8000 rpm, IMO, preferably under 6000 rpm.
If you load the motor down with big tires, lots of weight or steep angles you may have brush problems.
3) High rpms are much harder on the motor and will shorten it's life.
