Club Car DS Won't Charge

1998 Club Car DS 48 volt golf cart won't charge. Usually you get a click when you plug the charging cable in and then about 5-10 seconds later the charging needle jumps up. Now you just get the click. I have 2 power drive chargers and they both do the same thing-click but no needle movement. I doubt I have 2 bad chargers but not impossible. Can anyone tell me what to check? Cart currently has enough charge to drive around. Batteries are not dead yet. 30% idiot light is not on. Thank you!

The needle may be exhausted from 20 years. We had this on chargers from 2000. We still use them without problems.
