98/99 par cart problem

I just got a 98/99 eagle (3E-28857-D9)

Bought a lester 36 v charger and new switch for cart.
While charging I flipped the tow switch and smoke came from the 74881-98 module.

charging voltage was 42 to 44 and according to papers I have that is OK.

Switch was not connected at this time.

Any help is appreciated.

Welcome to the forum...

I'm not to familiar with Eagle carts. By module are you talking about the carts controller? If smoke came out of chances are is toast...
