48 volt solenoid

My 1995 club car, 48 volt was used for towing. It seemed to get hot and then shut off. After a little while it would run again. It did that 3 times before I got smart enough to quit towing with it. It ran two weeks and then quit again for good. The solenoid trigger wire has 48 volts on it whether the key is on or off. This yellow wire seems to go to the computer. Could this be a sign of a bad computer or controller? How do you test both?
Thank you very much,
Red Fred

The ground for the main siloniod goes to the computer when you plug in the charger it will not ground so the kart will not move. That will not turn off. so I ran a new wire to ground, works fine now but no safety shutoff.
