Yamaha G14 Ground Fuse

I'm working on a Yamaha G14 the ground fuse pops after less than 1\4 mile of run.
Can I ground from the motor to the neg terminal? Or is that just like putting a paper clip in the fuse holder.
I have continuity on the starter side of the fuse and up to the igniter per mutimeter

I hooked a ground from the Body\frame to the engine. it runs good so far. i went a mile plus.
With the fuse out it doesn't start so maybe its good.
I need to run it around a bit more.
