I had a Zap Xebra nev that was stolen from me in 2020 but it was recalled so I couldn't report it. (Long story) I found it at a local tow yard wrecked. Apparently they have had it since a week after it was stolen. Anyway I can get it back for $200 and it still runs I'm thinking about pulling the drive system and putting it in my 88 ezgo marathon. It will be capable of 45mph or more. Has anyone here ever heard of the zap car? Any thoughts about the swap ? I know the ezgo will need a massive brake upgrade. Any tips or kits available.

You need to know what spline the motor has you need to know what the bolt pattern of the motor is or you need to swap the whole rear end will that fit then you need to figure out tire size maybe 45 miles an hour with those tires but will those tires fit on the golf cart

I was going to use the whole rear end since the drum brakes are bigger than the ezgo. 99.9% sure it cannot be done without a lift at least but I want it as low as possible. The tires on the zap are the same size as the rear tires on my profile pic. In fact I was going to use them on the zap car before it was stolen.

Well now I think I may get the zap car and use its guts for my 81 nordskog 282b burden carrier. It already has a currie 9 inch and disc brakes in rear.

Zap cars were 72 volts, the motor was massive , the electronics were S#*t , why in hell would you want anything to with it? Nothing is going to fit worth a damn. Even the brakes were crap and as i recall the brakes were the recall problem.

I can probably get you close to 40 miles an hour with an AC kit and larger tires it's all Bolt up

But the zap car will be close to free. It in a tow yard that doesn't know what to do with it because it has no Vin. Somehow it escaped the recall I bought it for $200 in 2019. And it was stolen in 2020. It was wrecked and towed but because it had no Vin the cops wouldn't take a report so I didn't know when it was found. The date on the window from when it was towed shows it was about a week after it was stolen

Do what you want but you're going to spend a lot more time than you think trying to retrofit if it's a project you want you got it is it going to be something you can resell front wheels and back wheels will have different bolt patterns sounds like a lot of work don't know if the axles going to stick out in the back and look stupid compared to the front. Everything that I've ever gotten for free turns out to have cost me more
