Yey we have 120 volts!!

Over the weekend I put in the new 120 volt controller and added the last of the batteries. The car sunk down in the back like there was a fat person in there so I made lift shackles temporarily until I buy beefier springs.
The car is exciting to drive but it's slower than I thought it would be. Last week going to school with the new motor and 48 volt 480 amp logisystems controller the car cruised along at 40-45 mph nearly the whole way. On 120 volts it seems to reach 55 top and acceleration is about the same as 48 volts. When not running on totally flat ground or downhill it averages in the range of 118 volts or about 7.8 per battery.

I'm surprised the extra voltage didn't increase the torque. Maybe it's the weight of all the extra batteries?

I plan on adding an emergency disconnect, gauges, either aluminum or styrofoam box for the batteries inside the car with an exhaust fan going outside and need to find some way to make it safer for people to be around. I found out by doing the connections that you will get shocked if a knee is on the car and you touch the battery terminal at the same time. Thought I had the pack isolated from the chassis just for this reason but somehow it's not.
