Yamaha G22 Front End Alignment Adjustment

This is probably a stupid question, but does anyone know if there is an adjustment for the front end alignment a Yamaha G22 golf cart? My front tires are wearing on the inside very badly, and I can see the wheels tilted with the top of the tires in and the bottom of the tires farther out. I looked at it, and can't see any adjustment devices. The golf cart is 6 years old, golf course use only.

Any help would be appreciated!

Thanks, PT

Welcome to the forum. :hattip: The only adjustment on the stock Yamaha G22 suspension is the toe setting. If the tires are splayed out at the bottom then the toe is probably set to wide at the front of the tires. Easy way to test is to drive the cart forward in a straight line and then back up in a straight line. When you back up, the tires will start to climb or tip outward at the top. If there is no change when you back up, then your coil springs are bad.

Thanks dirtysouth - I was thinking it was the springs. Just in case, can you tell me where to look for the toe adjustment?

Thanks again,

PT

Follow up - I tried the drive backwards, and the tires did straighten up going back, then splayed out on the bottom coming forward - thanks again for the test - I still don't see anything to adjust except the tie rod ends - what am I missing???

OK - with your help, I think I got it. If you could do me one more favor and review what I did in case I did something REALLY stupid -

I removed both tie rod ends then screwed them on with the same number of turns each. Then I adjusted each side equally to get the steering wheel close to center.

The tires look straighter, and the cart drives pretty good. Of course at 12 mph, you don't really notice much.

thanks for your help,

Even if you aren't spot on, I'm guessing your tire wear will be minimal compared to what ya had. :hattip:

thanks dirtysouth - I thought about over doing it so I could use the other half of the tire, but naaaa....

drives much better, and steers much easier - thanks again, PT
