Yamaha G2 power loss

Hi everyone from new member in UK.
Just had a new generator belt fitted by one of our greens staff. Engine ticks over great and runs at low speed ok but depressing gas pedal at first causes revs to pick up then they quickly die. If I open choke ,engine revs pick up again. Air filter seems to be secured ok. Any suggestions please.

Sounds like your carburetor is likely dirty... take it off, clean it, blow it out with compressed air and put it back on the cart..bet it helps.

If you have to pull the choke then your air box is leaking and or its missing something. Once you get it sealed it should run great.
