YAMAHA G2 Front Shocks

Just a funny story to relate to anyone interested. Purchased my customized and lifted Yamaha G2 a few years ago. Just recently was tinkering with sloppiness in the front end. Replaced tie rod ends which helped but the over-sized wheels kept rubbing the frame and I suspected the front coil over shocks were weakened but there seemed to be no replacement shocks available; discontinued, really? In the meanwhile, a buddy was upgrading rear shocks on his Harley Sportster and was going to trash the old ones. I thought hmm, might just to the trick. They were a bit taller but bolted up just fine without any clearance issues. This gave a slight positive camber but relieved the rubbing issue, plus the chromed coil-overs are cool looking on my rig. Best of all they were free.
Of course I would not even consider such a hack on any street vehicle but this is just a 34 year old bone stock gas G2 used to putter around in the pastures, so all's fair.
