yamaha g16

I have a 1998 g16 that runs great when the engine is cool. Once it warms up the engine will"cut out" and the cart will just idle with the clutch turning when the gas pedal is pushed. Did all of the routine changes air filter plugs fuel filter etc, even removed gas cap thinking it may be some form of vapor lock. A mechanic told me it "may" be the throttle sensor/control. When the cart cuts out if I continously "rock" the gas pedal the engine will reengage and begin to run normally. Everytime the cart cuts out when warmed up I simply rock the gas pedal until she reengages. Has anyone experienced this in their Yamaha carts? Has anyone ever changed a throttle sensor/control? I am not a mechanic, but I am mechanically inclined is this something I can attempt to change myself? Any info would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks, Skor
