Yamaha G16 Gas Golf Cart Engine Rebuild

New Member
I just bought a 1998 Yamaha G16 gas golf cart. When I got it I was told the engine needed a new top end rebuild. It still ran but it was really slow and it smoked, other than that it was great condition so I bought it.

I took it to my mechanic and he discovered the cylinder it totaly shot, and he told me that I need to buy a new motor, that it cant be repaired because it is a nicosil sleeve.

Can I bore the cylinder, and or re sleeve it, or do I need to buy a new motor? Please help with this situation. And if so please point me in the right direction.
