Yamaha G1 Ignition Problem Only Sparks One Time

I have a Yamaha G1 gas 2 stroke golf cart with an ignition problem. When I attempt to start the engine it turns over and produces one spark at the spark plug. The spark plug only sparks one time. There is no more spark after the first spark. I have a new coil and a new ignitor. any thoughts?

make sure you have a good ground from the frame to the engine
