I have an old Yamaha G1 golf cart and it's not starting. By accident I grounded starter brush screw to starter frame and the starter started turning and cart started. I have to do this every time I start cart. Hold down gas pedal and jump starter brush screw to starter frame or neg. terminal of battery and off I go ! Any idea to help me with repair?

Will it start if you jump the to large studs on the solenoid? Also check the ground cable to the frame and make sure it's clean and tight.

Mine was doing that when i got it. I replaced the solenoid that the battery ground goes to and it ended up being the ground were the cable goes onto the battery. I'd check the grounds. Get the rear tires off ground hold foot on pedel and move the grounds around and see if it starts..
