I purchased a electric 1998 Yamaha electric golf cart with intentions on doing a electric to gas engine conversion project.
So my goal was to install a 6.5hp gas engine in. I converted it with the factory rear end and it didnt work out right, the gear ratio sucked.
So I redid everything and installed a custom rearend and now it works here are some pics.

The squeeling noise in the video is the single drum brake i had on it at that time ,didnt work.
Now i have a disc brake setup and it stops very good and quiet.

Works great still dont have enough tourque to go through soft sand with 2 adults.
but it wasnt built to do that, I built it mainly to take to FT wilderness campground at Disney
and all the roads are paved. I tried to get it up to full speed but i didnt have enough room!
once the clutch locked up it was a smooth ride and gave it about 3/4 gas and was going about 35 with me my wife and 2 kids on it. so im guessing it will go at least 40.
I will try to post a video of it driving.
i just found a busted a$$ ezgo electric on craigslist for $100 i might pick up and build a lowrider/fast street cart with a bigger engine. That will be my next build.
