I have a 2007 Yamaha and it has the same problem .... it would lurch forward and then stall... keeping foot on pedal it would start up again and run a short distance..., I corrected the problem the first time by putting it in the tow position for 15 minute. but 1 week later i am back with the same problem.... help

Welcome to the forum.

Usually the problem you describe is a bad controller if all the cable connections are clean and tight. You can try jumping the 2 large posts on the solenoid with a 6 gauge or bigger cable and see if the problem goes away. If it does the solenoid is bad. If the problem is still there while jumping the solenoid I'd say it's the controller.

I have the same problem and had Yamaha Service Company come out and they thought it was motor, replaced it .... came back a week later with new motor and still had problem.... so they replaced controller with no good results... checked wiring ... o.k. batteries... o.k. could it be the solenoid? They took my cart into shop to check it out....

I finally had the Yamaha Dealership take my cart in to have it checked out and was told the wiring harness as well as the motor was bad.... It is now working... I had the company return my burned out motor... On examining motor found two of the brushes were worn real bad.... cause, the housing holding the 2 bad brushes were defective they held brushes so tight that they wold not flout in place which caused them to wear out prematurely. Has anyone else had this problem... It sound that this could be a major problem with the 2006 Yamaha . This was why cart would run a short distance then hesitate and stall....
