yamaha 2 stroke ran then died on me

I got a car was riding it for the first time and it died on me after about two blocks.... after it died and i sat there for a minute i pushed on the pedal and the car went sort of... it really slow and was surging the whole time. compression test was at 150

Check to see if you're getting spark and gas to the carb.

ya it still has spark and its getting fuel after it heats up and dies

i would check the fuel filter first and if its clear than most likely theres dirt in the carburetor.

you may want to try to run it with the gas cap loose, could just be vapor locked if the vent is plugged. another member had the pickup tube in the tank collapse

but i think that was a 4 cycle, cheap to check

I cleaned the carb again and it fixed the problem thanks for the help

I have a 2 stroke gas golf cart that is maybe 20 years old and it ran fine until one day it just stopped. we've tested the spark plug and get nothing, it is a brand new spark plug to. and I have no idea how to fix it I need help!

I did create one a long time ago. Check ran then died gets no spark.
