Will an older (G9E) do 20MPH stock?

I am "eye balling" a used G9E to update with lights, turn signals, etc so I can to use it on the streets here in a "retirement" golfing community. It needs to run 20MPH (so I don't get run over on the way to the golf course)....will it do that in stock condition? If not, will it cost a mint in parts (like motor/controller/whatever) to kick the speed up to something acceptable? It is listed by the seller as a 36 volt unit.

I previously owned a gas Sun Classic and I always suspected the governor was broken as it was scary fast IMHO (it had the older more powerful 2-stroke).....someone told me is was 12 HP which was later reduced to 9HP. Anyway, I liked the overall quality of the machine, so I would like to stick with Yamaha.....but gas carts aren't permitted on the golf course here.....only electric.

Wow! That's simple enuff. Looks like a phone call to either firm will get me what I need......and it won't cost an "arm and a leg" to "git er done". The used cart I'm considering is via a dealer and he installed brand new batteries; so being able to give it a "kick in the pants" with the existing batteries (no need to go to 48-volt with new 8-v batteries or whatever) is a real plus. Thanks for the quick response......this is one great forum. Ed S.
