Wheels go when on jack stands

I am new to repairing golf carts but was a mechanic on trucks for years. Grand children have a 1992 36v cart. I was adjusting the brakes and had it up on stands. When I put it in forward or Rev. the wheels turn. I was thinking nothing should happen until i push the pedel. The cart needs to be put in (N) or the battery go's dead fast. Thanks for your help.

Sounds like either your wiper arm in the v-glide is not at full rest or the micro switch in the v-glide is faulty.

If the wheels turn when the key is off then the solenoid is probably also faulty.

Thanks for your help. You are right the v glide needed adjusting. The brush was touching two blocks in the rest position. I broke the rod ball ends and waiting to get new ones from the dealer. Club car has them on back order. It only move when the key is on. Thanks for your help.
