Does anyone know how I can find out what year my Club Car golf cart cart is?

Model # is: A8613 930
It has 5 solenoids which look to be the speed control and is 36v
The motor Part# is: 1012191 - Model# 5BC48JB764

It has a sales plate on it from "Golf Car Enterprises" Stock#00989

Is it posible to upgrade the motor on this cart?

Thanks for your help,

Hi and welcome to the forum.

Your cart is a 1986, the first two numbers after the letter A. It would be a resistor cart and will have a series wound motor. Are you looking to gain torque, speed or both?

Probably looking to add a little of both. I do have a few little hills around my house and I was hoping to get about 20mph. Any suggestions?

The cheapest route to take would be a re-worked motor from EMP or PQ, although I've never tried either with a resistor cart like yours it should get you to at least 20 MPH... You could also up the voltage to 48 volts but then you would need to buy batteries and either a 48 volt charger or charge the extra batteries seperatly from the rest of the pack.
I would give EMP a call and tell them what type of cart you have and they will tell you up front what kind of speed/torque you'll get out of their motor.
Here's a link to EMP. Electrical Motor Products
The last time I checked one of their motors was $275.00...

Filled out a questionaire for EMP and never got a response. I'll try again. How do I get a hold of Plum Quick? Do you have a web site for them?

Could changing the resistors on my cart help with speed at all?

Thanks,

Once the cart is at full throttle the resistors are just along for the ride so changing them will not help your top speed. I'd steer clear of Plum Quick, their support is terrible. :twocents:
