MY 2000.5 CC is not an IQ. The only upgrade left for me to do is the rear end.My cart is pretty fast (23mph).It's just that I have been wasting time looking at Controllers,Motors etc. What do the Cart Gods on here have to say about my options ? Thanks in advance.

Normally anything can be done, it just takes $$$$
What upgrades are you looking to do? Speed, torque, brakes, lights, lift?

My cart is basically stock. It has a 3.65hp motor,225 volt Curtis Controller,4 gauge cables only on the batteries (so far), 6" lift kit,and 23" tires. I know my cosmetic upgrades are limitless.I was unaware of the limitations of a non IQ Cart. I am open to all suggestions.

TIA,
Barb

I have found a High Speed Gear Set with an 8:1 Ratio for a 1998 and up Electric CC with a G Type Transaxle. What can I expect if I make this change ?

If your cart is stock and your already running 23 MPH you may already have high speed gears. Here's some estimates on top end speed with the different gear ratios available. These estimates are for a stock cart.

15:1 (Higher Torque) Gear Ratio - 10.714 mph

12.5: 1 (Stock) Gear Ratio - 12.857 mph

8.0:1 (Higher Speed) Gear Ratio - 20.089 mph

6.0:1 (Highest Speed) Gear Ratio - 26.786 mph

There should still be plenty of speed options for you. Either a EMP or PQ reworked motor. Or a D and D motor.

gornoman,
I was told that since my cart is not an IQ,I don't have the same upgrade options.About all I can do is change the gears in the rearend. Did I misunderstand ?

Barb, the upgrade path is DIFFERENT, but it does exist. You have a good motor, and could easily convert to 48v on that 36v motor. It would require 2 more batteries, a new controller, solenoid, and charger. And, it would run REAL GOOD!

I feel bad... the only spec I left out about my cart is that is it 48v.I posted it about a month ago in a different post.Sorry about that.

No problem, Barb. Lets look at my cart:

36v EZ-Go from the factory, designed to run 12-14 mph. I have upgraded to 48v but kept the original 36v motor. This is referred to as "over-volting" the motor. I am sending 48 volts to a motor wound and designed for 36v, thereby making the motor spin faster. My RPM's increased and the gearing didn't change, so the cart goes faster. My new speed is 20 mph.

Your cart came from the factory with 48v running a 48v motor, designed to run 12-14 mph. If you replace that 48v motor with an old style Club Car 36v motor your cart will go faster for the same reason.
