What are the best batteries for a Club Car?

We have a Club Car, around about year 2002. We bought it with dead batteries in it and replaced those about 2 years ago from Battery Source. Off and on we have had problems with the batteries to the extent the metal post on the battery was melted down. Then problems with batteries going bad. We recently pulled it up to Battery Source on a trailer, had all the batteries inspected and tested. One was bad and one again had a melted post. Both were replaced. The cart ran well for about 1 day and then gradually began losing charge even after charging it thoroughly. I am not sure if we have a problem with the charger or the batteries. The charger seems to kick on when we plug the cart up so I am not sure its the charger but too all batteries were tested and were good.

Any suggestions?

The melted post is from not being clean & tight. The best battery that money can buy for a gollf cart is trojan... High dollar but worth the candy....

bingo......melted from either loose or loose and dirty connection.....just as important as brand is maintence you can,t just drop a set of batteries in and not maintain them even the best batteries out there will fail...............so 1st make sure you get golfcart batteries and not just deep cycle there is a huge difference..............once they are installed they have to be broken in proper or life and power will be lessened...............always keep them full with distilled water only to 1/8 inch or so over lead plates always alway let the charger finish its job.......no charging for 2 hours and than jumping on to run buy a pack of smokes.....very important to let the charger do its job...................at least monthly or more always lift seat and wiggle cables make sure they are tight and ends are nice and shiney....................new batteries are only about 75% so they will charge longer than normal and part of the break in is getting them up to 100% ................if you do this right you,ll have a good set of batteries that will last as long as possible............as for brand ??? trogen #1 crown, us battery, interstate, and so on.....get the best you can afford just keep in mind its an electic battery powered cart if your gonna skimp somewhere do not skimp on batteries and cables.

I agree...Trojaans are some of the best....did any body load test the batteries? If you have a bad battery it will draw the others down as well. Make sure you have not reveresed the polarity on any of them. Melted post is definately a bad connection.
