Welding Battery Racks?

I am going to replace the battery rack's in a 1984 EZGO 3 wheeler that I bought back in July. The plan is to take out what is left of the old rack's and replace it with new one's.

What precautions should I take when welding the new racks back into the cart ?

Take all the batteries out. Cut out any corroded metal and clean the surrounding area real well so you'll be able to weld without issues from the acid.

No problem. Seeing how your cart has no electronic controller you shouldn't have any problem with any of the electrical parts from the welding.

The safest thing to do is take the controller off the cart.
