I am installing a voltage reducer in Yamaha Drive. 48v down to 12v.
should I wire it directly to the batteries or run it through the ignition switch somehow? Seems like “always hot” may be a problem. Thanks,

I have an instruction sheet that simply says input+ to batt+ and input- to batt-. But on a golf cart, will power full time to converter over heat it, or run batteries down when cart is not in use?
