very slow speed only

Ok, I've got a Melex 252 36 volt cart and can't decipher this problem. If I barely touch the pedal it'll go real slow either forward or backward but once I push the pedal a fraction further, nothing happens. The cart stops until I press the pedal again (slightly) then it goes very slow again. I was thinking the micro switch but I don't even know what that is.

Ok I've got it working, I bypassed the small switch that has two wires attached to it and is activated by a roller wheel that gets moved when the foot pedal is depressed. I think it's the micro switch. Am I doing anything bad by bypassing it?

You should replace the bad micro switch. With the micro jumped your sending power to the solenoid as soon as you turn the key on.

thanks for the reply, Yeah I've figured out that's what the micro switch does. Didn't know what it did.
