Been wanting twin motors for my Texas cart for a while now.... So one night I picked up some .....Beer.....Sawzall.....Extra Differential Housing...Crank up the tunes..... And Pop the Top.... It went something like this....
Waiting on the welder & I am building the motors now.... See y'all in the spring !!!!!!!

That looks cool  Hope the twin motors work out for you.

I have to stick with the Gasser. :hattip:

So far so good...still have a ways to go but I'll keep posting pic's.. Build a twin set up is not so hard.. KK ran one for a while... My problem is making twin motors that will fit with what room I have in my Texas cart... Its not a done deal yet but I have spent a lot of time & money on this deal & I'm 99.9% that it will work ...

I've been thinking maybe I need a pair of twins too, V-twins that is!! 4 cylinders on the good stuff ALCOHOL horsepower ....what ya think? :rotflmao:

Rod I see you peeking over the fence !!!! You are a big part of the Texas Cart & my life.... You have put more horsepower to the ground then anyone that I personally know... Please tell me what you see & do you think my stupid idea will work....??????? After all how hard could it be.... see ya in the record books..... well I mean i wont see you but you will see me !!!!! O'' f/it.. Some times Robby is harder to understand than I am ......YES !!!!!!!

I like the idea. One thing I would do is gusset the flanges as much as possible. The cast aluminum of a EZGO rear end housing isn't the best for strength when it comes to welding. Maybe even have mounts on the other ends of the motors bolted to brackets welded to the axle tubes. I'd think about some axle tube supports similar to this pic. Something like this would also give you more area to make mounting brackets to support the other end of the motors. This may be over kill but your better off safe than sorry. :twocents:

i agree with Rod that it would well worth fabbin' plates that mount to the back of the motors and clamp to the axle tubes, not a lot of work or added weight. you boys fill them carts full of boat anchors anyways so whats another 8lbs :)

The welder called late last night..This was as far as I got with it... Ill get it going today although I don't really know what it is that I am going to do with it , but you can bet your sweet assets I'm having fun doing it.. I would like to think that this project would spark interest & help to get other guys involved with cart racing.. But some seem to take it the wrong way.... Anybody can post vids of their cart going fast down the track... Hell it ain't that hard... Not everyone owns a cart shop or has fingertip knowledge of golf carts at this level... I just try to get guys involved from a different view...We don't need spectators as bad as we need carts going down the track for right now... I try to level the playing field by showing our sport from the ground up... Hoping to get more guys building drag carts than just watching a select few run theirs down the track ...... Which is cool don't get me wrong.... But I post my stuff good or bad... I put it out their for all to see & hopefully for some to learn from... And if that makes me a looser than so be it... But some guys will only post the success they are having with their cart at that time.... Go Figure !!!!!! Anyway back to whatever it is that I am trying to do....

Ya gotta love them decals with the skull and knive stuck in it classic stuff for the high end fella.
