Took a 78" vintage Taylor Dunn 248b burden carrier, welded on a removable top, added 1080 watts of solar panels, added two 1500 watt inverters. It can now run my well water pump, window unit a/c etc.

That Taylor Dunn looks super nice, you did a great job on restoring it. Feel free to post more pictures of it in this thread and welcome to the forum. :hattip:

How many amps does the A/C unit pull? the well pump most likely pulls 10 amps for a minute or more. crazy to think those panels would supply that load:dazed:
Cart does look nice:hattip:

the batteries pick up the slack, a 5000 btu window unit only draws 6 amps running. At peak sun the panels are putting out 25 amps. By the time you add in charge controller. inverter lose's, you need about 600 watt to 700 watt output from the panels which this set easily supplies.

btw 18x8.5 works great on the 10 inch 5 lug rims. just go with a lower profile. Impossible to find 8 inch tires with aggressive tread.

I should have added " with high weight capacity". Those are cool tires, but the description dont give ratings, or even how many plys are built in. Industrial carts are HEAVY, and carry high loads. A 2 or 4 ply tire may not handle the high weight .

I bet the 48v versions pull even harder. Since mine is a old mechanical type speed controller, when the batts are due to be replaced I may go 48v.

Took out the two 1500 watt inverters and installed an 5000 watt continuous, 10000 surge inverter. Suspect it may be overkill to run the 14 amp chainsaw. Here it is cutting through a live oak trunk.Next week we are showing it running our House shallow well pump.

Added two more panels by making temporary mounts than can be removed quickly. Brings the capacity to 1440 watts.. Its a little shaky in the back, but seems to be roadworthy. Just have to remember you have a lot more hanging off front and rear. Should bring the charging to about 35-40 amps in even less than ideal conditions.
