Tire Size

I keep seeing folk with a tire/wheel size of 20" or so. How is the tire/wheel size measured? I'm used to automotive tire sizing and a 20" cart wheel is nowhere near a 20" auto tire size.

Something I did not consider when buying my wheels (tires already mounted on rim) was the tire side wall thickness. I bought 215/40-12 and the 12" rim is a bit too big which gives a stiffer ride. Next time I will buy 215/40-10, giving me a rim that is 2 inches smaller and a tire side wall 2" thicker for a softer ride.

It won't quite work that way.
A 205/50-10 is a higher aspect tire and should be about the same height as the 12" with a softer ride. The 'rubber band' low aspect tires are hard riding. JMHO

Better said. I didn't intend on buying low aspect tires but mistakenly did. Thank you.
