Tire/Lift Kit Question

Hey guys,
I have a 99 DS 48volt that is pretty much stock. I can get a great deal on some tires and rims that are 23X10.5-12. I know I need to install a lift kit, but how high is high enough? Do I need to do anything else as far as upgrades? What are the good/bad things to weigh out? I appreciate any and all input.

A six inch lift is pretty standard for those size tires.

I have an 8" lift and 25" tires with stock electrics (motor, Controller, etc) And I have good torque and speed.

Running 27"tires with custom lift,still have 36 volts and stock motor.No problems so far!!
