Suggestions for Cartahoilcs

Thanks Thumper for the support.
The Tool Box was originally set up so members couldn't start topics in there. The idea that the previous owner had was anyone that had tips/tricks would PM them to a Admin for review and it would be up to the Admins to decide if the idea should be posted. I just changed the permissions on The Tool Box so new threads can be started by any registered member. So if anyone has anything as to add to this section go right ahead.

How about redoing the registration so that it can ban bots before they get through, like putting in a major league pictocode or such? You might remember Trencher who was on BU a long time ago, I'm a member of his forum and we've experimented in some very drastic but still user friendly bot-zapping techniques.

TCD, I checked out the site. I like the idea on the checking the boxes with animal pictures. That's the first time I've seen that one. I bet it works well to.

Yup we've had 0 bots for a long time now. Plus we have a few traffic-monitoring tools (ban unneeded crawlers looking for profit), pretty sure you can access similar tools here though.

There are probably 400+ carts in our campground. That means there are quite a few forgotten old carts lurking behind woodsheds, only still existing because the owner hasn't paid to have it carted away. Is there a value here? Could they be listed to be parted out?

Everybody wins, and we generate some traffic.

Sponsors LIKE traffic!

I too like the idea of a section for Lo Riders or Low Profile or Made for the Street carts.

Gorno, They could definitely be parted out and I would have no problems with the carts being listed here. I had a similar idea about the association where my cottage property is. I do a lot of work on carts there in the spring and summer and will make sure they all know about this place.

Rusty, I'm still giving the low rider section some thought. A couple others have asked about the same thing so it may happen soon.

How about a members list on the forum page? Not just whos online but ALL members. And... what about a section called "Cart Pics"? Not by make or model, just carts. That way we could tell someone that doesnt know about our "extreme" golf carts about the site and say,"go to Cartaholics.com, click on forum and then click CART PICS". Just a couple'o ideas.

Grizzley,
There is a link for "Members" at the top of the page, bottom row of "Tire" links.

Shew, I'm glad somebody thought of that. LOL
Uhhhh... I'm afraid to ask, but do we have a Cart Pic section?

I mean like in the welcome section, "Cart Pics". Where we could post just the pics of our finished (for the moment) carts.
So it would be easier for a visitor or a guest who doesnt know the difference in EZGO, Club Car, Yamaha, etc. but just wants to look at the "pretty" carts.

Your site needs so much more as in the people who are on-line and who last posted a blog and etc....... I think that you need to visualize this kind of like a news letter layout, with the discussion of the day, week or month. Tips for golf cart pimpin and ways to find the parts to do so. And all of the acheivements of before and after photos. Then take the one who took the cart and made it the best and post it as the cover picture as an example of what can be done if done right. Ask CSFink if he can help I know he can do it. As I go through your site I may find more and I will let you know if it needs changed, but so far it looks good. But you need to peek others interests when they happen on to your site.

I added two forums for lifted and non lifted cart pictures. I've had several requests for them so its a done deal. Feel free to post pics of your own carts or other carts that have caught your attention
I'm still working on other ideas that you have mentioned and I'm open to all opinions and suggestions.

Thanks,
HRC

Not sure if this was covered. I would like to see a step by step of any mods that are done to various carts. I think that is a helpful tool when it comes time to do them yourself. I have seen a similar thing done at an atv forum and it really helped out when I rejetted my atv. A picture is worth a thousand words.

This site rocks and I would love to see it prosper.
