this club car is a 88 it runs great when cool outside, but when it gets warmed up after running for 15 0r 20 min it quits must set a few min and will run for a few min again this cart belongs to a elderly friend in florida he bought it from innisbrook golf at an auction it has a kowasaki engine.and cari-all box on back. I disconnected the ground to the black box thinking the problem might be the low rpm signal faulty, also it is not a fuel problem, as I have checked the plug it will be wet, fuel is clean filter is new pump works fine.
Has good spark until warmed up, then is very weak and wont jump test plug until it cools a few min. If you let it set for five min, it will run for about three or for min and stop again. Takes him a while to get back home.(lives in sun city Fl. drives it all over to see buds etc.)
Any ideas on this would be a great ...I am a retired heavy equipment diesel mechanic, these small things are a nightmare to me..I have worked on engines in ships etc. that one piston is larger than that whole cart..
Thank you.......Fuzzfixit..

Yes, when you take the ground wire off the limiter, it by passes it. It would either be the coil or the exciter coil. I had that engine for about 2 months and the exciter coil went bad when warm as you describe. Honestly, I would pick up a new coil and exciter and be done. This way you know you got the electrical side covered in the future.
