steering column part identification

Our e-z-go cart was totalled but my husband was able to weld the frame, allign the wheels and we've bought a new steering column.

We're down to this final step and I dont want to damage anything when I take it apart. Im unable to attach a pic and wonder if anyone would be willing to allow me to email the pic to them for identification?

Note: The column broke right at the base where it bolts to the floor and a small gear is sticking out. It appears that I'd have to remove the gear to slide the shaft off.
