starts only by jumping solenoid CC Gas

I am working on a friends cart. I think it is an 85 from the serial number ( AG851674940). It won't start with the pedal but runs perfect if I jump across the solenoid. I unhooked the low oil sensor but ended up blowing a fuse. Replace fuse and still nothing. Any ideas why the solenoid ( also new) wont activate?

the micro switch in the black box......one of them is to activate soleniod........................................

The micro swith checked out. Found the problem. The original solenoid was grounded directly to the frame. The replacement was shielded from the frame so I had to add a ground wire off the opposing pin and voila!It lives. Thanks for your reply Shadowman.
