Starter/Generator

New battery that will pass a load test when fully charged. Cart works fine with fully charged battery until battery is bled down. Once gas engine is stopped after battery is discharged, cart will not restart. Cart is totally dead. Recharge battery, and cart is good for several days until battery discharges again. I would think that if the starter works well with a fully charged battery, then the generator should be sufficient to generate a charge when the gas engine is running. Is there a regulator, or switch that controls when & how much the generator sends back to the battery when the gas engine is running. How do we straighten this out? Thanks!

2006 ST --- How would you trouble shoot the voltage regulator? How would you verify that system is charging?

put a Digital Voltmeter on the battery, should read 14.5 volts or so at half throttle.
