spitting chain

New Member
Hi i have an older club car that i have been working on and lifting, i am having trouble keeping the chain on, it may be the fact that it has an 18hp briggs and stratton engine that is mounted above the differential on the back of the cart. Would a belt be better than a chain. it has leaf springs but i have made many different chain tensioners to keep the chain tight when hitting bumps, should i eliminate suspension completely? it is mostly for mudding so it doesnt need suspension. any help would be appreciated. Thanks,
