Ezgo never had a speed torque switch that I know of.
Is it a rabbit/turtle switch that was available for high speed carts or is it a modification to a stock setup?
Photos of the switch and battery compartment would be handy to look at.

Kjames, the one I have is basically a club car F/R that has four color coded cables to the motor. The EMP has two extra studs (LR1 and LR2). My blue cable goes to LR2, yellow to LR1, green to S2, and red to S1 (you will have two leads on S1,S2 studs) Don't know if yours is colored coded like this, if not I still have instructions and can scan it in. The Torque/Speed switch, will tie LR1 and LR2 together in torque mode or more or less shunt the motor for speed mode when switched to it. You can also hard wire it for torque mode without the switch by just putting a jumper between LR1 and LR2, or for speed mode have a jumper from S1 to LR2 and also from S2 to LR1. Pretty cool little motor. They say not to add voltage without up grade, but I've run mine on 48v and 72v not problem, torque mode is much easier on the motor and batteries last longer. Hope this helps, some.

ya thanks, so i should notice a big differnce between the two.....maybe my switch is bad it is only running on a 36v but runs great, could it be stuck on one side? no it cant or can it hmm... I know with my daughter on it she can punch and it will spin the back tire on grass or gravel. I would not mind at all having a diagram of it would there be a difference in the brand?

The switch may not even be hooked up so I would trace the cables down that are connected to the switch and see where they go. I believe there's a EMP diagram here on the forum and I know there's one on there website. Like athomas03 mentioned there motors can be used with or without a switch depending how you wire the motor.

At this point we're not even sure you have a EMP motor so we need to figure that out first.
