Speed Controller Issue

I just finished putting new batteries, motor, wires and a Curtis speed controller on my cart and when you step on accelerator pedal it takes off at high speed and the more you push the pedal it goes slower. Seems to be working backwards. Any idea what would cause this?

Do you have a Marathon or TXT model golf cart? What is the model number on the controller?

It was a EZGO Workhorse 800E that I pulled apart due to frame rusted in half and put on a Melex cart. New D and D motor, batteries, wires, forward reverse switch the only thing that wasn’t brand new was the controller and solenoid from the 800E that was new.

I think your controller is programmed wrong for the throttle. Is it an ITS throttle or 0-5000 ohms?

0 to 5000 with 3 wires coming out white, black, and green.

I could not read the last number of the controller but 25864G09 and 05 are both ITS throttles not sure what you have there.

Does anybody have the wiring diagram for
The micro switches and potentiometer wiring? I have put the old speed controller in Curtis 1204-410 put won’t move when pedal depressed unless I touch the bottom spade terminal with test light then takes off. I think the potentiometer is not wired correctly. It has a blue, green and black wire that comes from it I believe the blue and black was connected to the speed controller but not sure where the green wire goes. Any help is greatly appreciated.

This is a 36 volt Melex cart.
