Speed and RPM

Have a 1995 gasser CC. Just got the "tiny tack" today and installed. Tach says I`m doing 4400 rpm, but just doesn`t sound like its reving that fast. GPS speed is 16 mph with 205x50x10 tires (basically stock diameter) Only thing I have done to it is remove rev limiter ground. It was bouncing on it when I got the cart. Is there a way to calculate speed verses rpm in a gasser? I can do it for an electric but don`t know the formula (if there is one) for a gasser.

Thanks

This engines are quiet. They do not sound nlike they rev high.
Club Cars are governed to run about 3300-3400. If you remove the governor, the rpm limiter kicks in at 3900-4100rpms. So if you got it up to 4400, it is right. Funny though, you said you only got it to 4400. With those size tires, you should hit 5500-6000. Are you sure your governor is completely dis-connected?

Wass1967 Thanks for the reply. I had heard that these carts were factory governed at 2700 rpm + or - 50 rpm. But you may be right at 3300-3400 rpm. I`m not up on that part. But to let you know I haven`t disconnected the governor. When I got the cart, at full pedal, it would hit the rev limiter and of course do the chug bit back and forth. So I disconnected the rev limiter only to see what would happen. And sure enough the chug factor stopped. Checked speed with my GPS and it hit 16 mph. Didn`t want to disconnect the governor till I had a tack on it , so I bought the "tiny Tach". It says I`m doing 4400 RPM. I just thought that was weird since I haven`t made any mods as yet to the governor. I wanted to make sure it was reading right. I was wanting to know if 16 MPH sounded about right at 4400 RPM with those tires? I wasn`t sure if the tack was giving me the right reading. Saying factory RPM is 3400 and 12 -13 MPH ...1000 more RPM to 4400 would only boost me 3 to 4 MPH to 16 MPH? If I disconnect the governor whats the max rpm I should run the engine and for how long? Don`t really want to blow the engine apart.........just yet. Its almost a street legal cart and wife and I cruise the neghborhood with it. Sometimes I just want an extra boost of speed to show off.
