Sparkling wire

I have a 2001 36 volt converted to 48 and there is a wire with a fuse that goes to the positive of battery 5 but any time that I disconnect it to work on something it sparks and I could hear something clicking. Can I move this wire to the positive of another battery to see if the same thing happens because that battery and number 4 gets warmer than the others when charging the car.

Welcome to the forum...

I wouldn't move it. If you move the wire to another battery it will change the voltage of that wire depending on where the ground wire is connected. Before going any further you need to figure out what the wire is for and how many volts it has. Follow it and see where it's connected at the other end. Also try to figure out what's clicking. Let us know what you find and we can go from there.

I disconnected the wire and when I put it back the brake lights turned on for about 15 seconds and that normally happens hapens when you put the car in parking. So it seems that the wire is for that.

keep in mind when working on an electric cart always disconnect the pos. cable from #1 battery and the neg. cable from #6 battery that could save you from doing some real damage to the cart while working on it..........................................................

Any time you reconnect a battery you will get a spark. Its completing the circuit. Now if it continues to spark after the initial contact then you have a problem. Are you running 12 volt electronics off of the 4th battery? That could explain it geting hotter than the others.
