Solenoid Resistor Hot!!!!

2006 EZGO TXT PDS. The F1 White wire from controller shorted to the solenoid today. I repaired the short but the cart won’t move. When I hook the neg. lead to the pack the resistor across the solenoid gets extremely hot in just a few seconds. I assume another short. I checked the following. Solenoid test good, ignition switch is good,rev/fwd switch tested good and there is no reed switch.I ohmed the F1-F2 wires and got 1.2 ohms.I can only assume the controller or motor is burnt.
Any further advise would be helpful.

You will need a new controller, the short will have killed the field driver. The hot resistor is also a symptom of a bad controller, it’s pulling current due to an internal short. Test A terminals and motor case for shorts as well.

Kinda thought that’s where I was heading. Can you make a reccommendation? Many Controllers on line that say they will work with my cart. From $150-350. Is there a upgrade?
