Slow Speed - No Speed

1976 club car, the batteries are about five years old. It is only used about four months a year. When put in storage the water level is brought up, they are left fully charged. When taken out of storage they water level is checked and recharged. This fall it didn't have the speed of last spring. Today it would not move forward, but would go back. After moving the forward reverse lever back and forth it would move forward, but not with great speed.

It sounds like you may have more than one problem.

Start with a good voltage test and load test on the batteries. Check your connections and contacts on the forward and reverse switch. Check ALL your cable connections.
