Shorter Drive Belt Flipping Over In Clutches

I put a new shorter drive belt on my golf cart, 39 inch. It's a night and day diffrence on take off but the belt is flipping over in the clutches. Any way or anything i can do about it?

sounds to short to me, i would put it on some jack stands and watch how the clutches shift and make sure the belt climbs all the way up the drive clutch before it bottoms out in the driven

Will give it a try. So drive clutch up before driven clutch?

they'll both change at the same time, if the belt is to short it will bottom out in the driven and the drive clutch will keep trying to squeeze the belt to force it up and the belt will flip over.
