Seriously considering this engine

Alright guys I am ready to buy a big block. I need yalls advice on what to purchase. I use the horse often for off roading. Speeds usually range from rock crawlin to 15 on the trails I ride. So it needs to be able to handle steep hills and low speeds with out even having the slightest possibility of overheating. It would suck to brake down in the middle of nowhere. I am seriously considering the 29hp Kawasaki Engine over a 23hp briggs since it comes with exhaust and not to mention its water cooled and 29hp.

Will this fit Walkntals motor mount? Can yall help me wire it up? Any reason not to get something like this?

Also the same company has a 23hp vanguard and a 24hp honda for the same price, how do those to compare?
Thanks! The swap is getting closer.

I did some number pushing. Does $1369 and $1869 seem accurate for a completed otd build? I dont know what I am going to do about a clutch. $500 is way to much for a clutch.

Vanguard engine swap
23 hp vanguard engine.....$1200
Clutch................................$500(not included in total)
TT A-Arm Suspension.........$800
Motor mount......................$169
Exhaust.............................$100

Total..................................$2269
E-Z-GO engine..................-$600
Snowmobile engine..........-$300
Total..................................$1369

Kawasaki Engine swap
29hp Kawasaki Engine.......$1800
Clutch.................................$500(not included in total)
TT A-Arm Suspension..........$800
Motor mount.......................$169
Exhaust..............................(Included with engine)

Total...................................$2769
E-Z-GO engine....................-$600
Snowmobile engine............-$300

I may be seeing it wrong, but looks like you will have to get a new exhaust for the kawi. The stock one looks to close to fit the Bad Boy clutch in there.
I would stay with a Briggs engine because there are a lot of high performance parts for them.

Stick with the Briggs. You wont have to worry about over heating. ou can use your stock clutch, have it machined and buy the other spring.

Dont forget the $100+ from that joint to ship that Kawi.

My motor mount is jigged for the 23 Briggs and 24 Honda. Thats a nice Kawi but you'll need to relocate the airbox because its too tall and the motor mounting points wont fit my(any)mount.

To make life easier how about a 23 Briggs putting out 30-33hp and revs to 6000 for the same price? I'm going to start stocking these built motors.

If you have to have the big block, just hold on a week or two. I'm working on some things..

As far as clutches, I guess your choices are a worn stock clutch thats machined

, a Comet 94C works ok if your not concerned with maximized topend and you dont throw too much power at it and then there is the expensive Comet 1190 sever duty roller clutch, basically unlimited horsepower and 6500rpm+ and smoooooooth shifting.

So does the $500 clutch fit this engine out of the box?

Ive made my decision. If I can find an engine like the one above I will get that and the good clutch if it will fit the engine. I just got the title for my motorcycle today and I got a buyer so I got money. LOTS

YEY

Unless Walkntall you could get me a briggs 23hp with all the goodies for the $1800. I dont suppose that includes the good clutch does it?

The only thing is I run my cart hard and I was looking forward to the warrenty the new engine comes with. I just got back a few minutes ago from a 4 hour ride at Houston Valley ORV.
If I bought the briggs now and rode it for 2 years stock. Then when the warrenty runs out can I put all the goodies in myself? Can the guys at any auto place like Maxi or Midus do it?

Crap then I'll need a roll cage, racing seats, A-arm suspension. I think a rhino would be cheaper. But definately not cooler.

Why is it expensive for someone to put those mods in? Well maybe in 2 years with some coaching from yall I'll know how to do it.

I really think the 23hp vangaurd stock will make me happy for now. I can climb some steep stuff with the 350 and the vangaurd is twice as powerful. I still would like to put a motorcycle or my snowmobile engine in it though.

Maybe my next project.

Thats a pretty good deal on the motor. I wonder which model they will send you? Even the stock motor and the big clutch would make a nice combo. How tall is your lift? Or how high is your rear leaf spring above your axle. Also just curious what size tires your running?

I thought it was a good price also but the auction ended. You mean they have different model 23hp vangaurd?
I have a 5" workhorse lift from BU but I want to put the long travel TT A-arm on it. But thats another $800 down the drain. Tires are 25" mudlites.

I put a new 350cc workhorse engine in it last year. And then theres the snowmobile engine sitting in my garage waiting for a cart. Do you got one for me?
