Robin-fuji heavy got no spark

Hello, have an EZ-GO with and OLD robin Fuji heavy in it. This unit has been running off and on for years. now I get no spark and I have not been able to find anyone with a diagram, parts, or a clue about what to test. Can anyone please help me? s/n 780502 T54402 no model # listed.

Is your engine the 2-stroke Robin/Fuji? The 2-strokes have one spark plug and the older ones are horizontal in the engine bay.


IF this is the engine, then do you know what year the cart it? There should be an ID tag under the passenger side dash. The Pre-80's models use a points and condenser ignition system where as the post-80's models use magnetos on the flywheel.

You're right - good thing I didn't try to add fuel to it - it is a 2-stroke, model EC25DS 244cc and as for the year, I really don't know. The id tag only had the numbers I listed previously. I have pics of the flywheel and the regulator, but I don't know how to add them on this reply. Maybe you can tell me how to get them to you then you can see if it has points or magnito. Either way what whould be the next step? What are the gap speccs for points and spects on magnitio?

Sorry, for some reason Image host doesn't load for me, however It is a horizontal engine so it is an older model. Do you have the spects on checking the points on these? Are they directly under the flywheel? or do I need to disassemble alot to get to them?
