reverse only works sometimes

2001 ezgo, know very little, just getting into carts. reverse only works sometimes, forward works great.

Is this a PDS or a series cart?

i think it is a PDS, thanks, 1st time working on a cart, 2001 EZGO, has a run/ tow switch on box under seat, 36 volts, havent heard any buzzards probably been removed, lifted, speed chip ? goes pretty quick, just need to figure this reverse out. does nothing when put the sw. to rev. , sometimes hear the relay & will go. ???

Ok its a PDS. It sounds like you either have a bad connection or a bad f/r switch. Remove the switch from the dash and check connections there first. You can test the switch with a Ohm meter while you have it out.

well remover f/r sw. - rev side has no reading across. jumpered or / gr wires &

rev works fine. guess ill be buying a new f/r switch. thanks for the help, i,m sure i,ll have more questions, adventures, love working on these carts !
