reverse beeper

I have an 04 txt and want to dissconnect the annoying reverse beeper,
i can tell it's in the front dash area but i don't see any easy access bolts or screws
to get at it except for rivets around the dash.
do i have to drill these out for access? or?

If it's a PDS cart (forward reverse switch on dash) the beeper is located behind the key switch panel. You can push the pins out of the two fasteners that look like rivets and remove the little panel.

yes it has the frwd,rev. switch on the dash.
i thought those were rivets holding the panel in

o.k. i'll take those pins out and put a stop to that annoying
beeper! thanks!

If you put a piece of tape over the hole in the beeper it will quiet it way down. That way you'll still have access to diagnostic codes if/when you need them.

x3 on keeping it intact. I almost disconnected mine but glad I didn't the diagnostics part came in handy when I had an issue.

Say you jump on your cart, turn on the switch, and hit the pedal thinking you parked it in forward, but you are wrong. Then full speed reverse you plow into an expensive drag cart parked several feet behind you. This happened at OLC, just ask Dirty South, it was his drag cart.....
