Rebuilding Club Car Gas Engines

Well hey, I'm back again looking for some knowledge on maybe rebuilding my buddy's Club Car engine. I was over there this morning trying to figure out why it quit on him yesterday at the golf course after I thought it was running the best it ever had when I left him to go play.
I get there this morning and started it up and it was running like it was either starving for gas or air. While it was running, I was making some adjustments to the carb and it finally hit the point of running pretty decent. Then it was like it backfired, and then it just died. When I was trying to restart it, it just didn't sound quite right. Every few revolutions there was a clicking or a clanking coming from the engine.
So I pulled the plug and it had great spark. There was plenty of fuel getting to the carb, but I knew the dreadful truth was about to be revealed when I perform the next test. I plugged the spark plug hole and turned the engine over again and had no compression.
These Kawasaki motors can't be that tough to rebuild, can they? :dazed:
I need a little help on where to buy the kit, how much it will cost, and if all of the specs on doing this are posted somewhere that I can access to do this project of mine.

Thanks guys, :wallbash:

you will find every spec you need in the service manual. if you don,t have one thats the 1st thing to buy you,ll never regret it and it will save you hours of time. they arn,t that bad to rebuild unless your like me and pick a february day with 10 inches of snow and your outside on a picnic table. still i started at 10 am and was driving the cart before darkness. the kit should come with everything incluuding a standard piston and rings and a 50 or 75 mm piston and rings. good luck and take your time.

Before you take it apart pull the valve cover and make sure a push rod didn't pop out of a rocker arm and the valves are adjusted properly... If that checks out okay then something broke in the engine.

Hey Shadowman!

Seems like you always answer my posts first ! I would've gotten back to you sooner had I not thrown my mouse across the room and disabled it's abilities to a bag of parts. I found my old backup piece of crap to hold me through today anyhow.
Can you get the manual through this site, or just get it somewhere else? I'll look around, but I did want to tell you thanks. I'm sure I can tackle this if like you say "take my time".

THANKS AGAIN !! ;)
