Haven't done it yet. I have a clutch problem on my '88. I looked up the clutch and there is a clutch puller bolt you have to buy to pull off the old clutch. Its around $40 . The clutch for mine is somewhere around $285. I heard to have a mechaninc do it its arouns $400 for the clutch plus labor. If you have done it already put it on the forum. Thanks

Most likely its the rear clutch... Almost every Yamaha that has a rattle we have to replace the inner half or the outer half of the rear clutch, or sometimes both. Its a pretty easy job to do, you don't need a puller... The only thing you may need is a extra pair of hands when installing the new piece. The only reason I say that is because when you put it back together... you have to compress the spring all while trying to put the keyway in and putting the nut back on and tighten it when not letting fall of and losing everything!!!! Trust me I have been very

I am not sure if I have the same problem (rattle) My cart will jerk with a loud clunk several times and then after the initial jerks it will take off normally. I brought it in for service and the mechanic said it was the clutch(?) and to keep running it until it quits all together. He did not mention if it was the centrifugal clutch or the rear clutch. I didn't know they had 2.

Its been doing it for about 3 years now. One guy I golfed with said he had the same problem and just blowed the clutch with compressed air and the problem quit????

Take the cover off the clutch and check to see if one of youre weights are broke... COMMON PROBLEM!!
Trust me you will know if one is broke!
