Radio Install

I installed a radio with a dedicated 12V batt. for it and the lights. Problem i'm having is while listining to radio stations sitting still they come in clear, as soon as I hit the gas, I get a lot of static noise. I could understand this if the radio was powered by the batteries that run the cart but it has it's own 12V.

It's pretty normal for radios to have reception issues on electric carts. The RF interference from the motor and controller is tough on the signal. You may have some success with an RF filter from Radio Shack.

Try rerouting any wires for the radio and antenna cable as far from the controller as you can. You can also try moving the antenna to a different location on the cart.
